From the Editors
'Swim' is the translation from French,
and Washingtonians who swim down to
the original Nage in Rehoboth Beach
are delighted to have a new incarnation.
'Lightening strikes twice!' reads
the promo, and it succeeds again,
with a citified take. Bare brick walls
and an open kitchen belie the hotel
locale -- Nage feels like a friendly
neighborhood place, with class. Service
is friendly, the atmosphere is instant
relaxation and the food is what made
'Nage I' so great. A seafaring bistro
serving up the freshest of ingredients
in innovative style, Nage sets forth
treats that are tantalizing without
being overwrought.
Consider perfect lump crab cakes,
seasoned with Old Bay and topped with
zingy tomato and corn succotash, or
the signature dish, Seafood a la Nage,
a lighter take on bouillabaisse that
doesn't spare the garlic. Carnivores
rave about braised and tender veal
cheeks over risotto, and also the
warm duck salad. Starters include
Nage's winning baked Chesapeake oysters
with fennel and Asiago cheese. --
